Planting roses: To plant roses which have been obtained from a nursery first water the rose, and then remove it from the pot. If the rose is in a paper pot cut off the bottom and remove the sidewalls so that the fine, new white feeder roots of the growing plant might be preserved.

Get well flowers: Flowers are a great way to let someone who is ill, or just feeling blue, know you're thinking of him, even if you can't visit him in person.
