Sense of enjoyment and satisfaction: Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. Specifically, participants in a research study reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.

In essence, a flower structure forms on a modified shoot or axis with an apical meristem that does not grow continuously (growth is determinate).
