Amount of water for roses: When roses have just been planted they should be watered daily to prevent wilting. If they have been growing in one spot for some time then they should be watered deeply once a week with one-inch or more of water.

Re-cut the stems with a sharp knife under warm water before placing them in the vase of fresh water.
