Keep flowers away from sun and drafts: It is not a good idea to put your arrangement in the sun after receiving it. Growing flowers require sunshine for maturation, but cut flowers will fade much faster if exposed to heat and direct sunlight. To keep flowers fresh longer, place them in a location away from sun and drafts.
Flowers for food:Sunflower buds taste similar to artichokes but taste bittersweet after the flower opens. Beginning the rose garden: Early spring is the best time to put out roses grown in nursery containers and late winter is the best time to plant bare-root roses.
