All parts of the plants were tested, including the leaves and sap. Sense of enjoyment and satisfaction: Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. Specifically, participants in a research study reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.
