Old and Modern Roses: Roses which existed prior to 1867 are known as Old Roses. Roses developed from 1867 to present are usually referred to as Modern Roses.
Forbidden flower:Clement of Alexandra forbade Christians to adorn themselves with roses because they were thought to be a symbol of paganism, orgy, and lust. Flowers stop craziness: Around the time of Henry VIII it was believed that 15 days of drinking a mixture of crushed daisies steeped in wine could cure insanity.
