Relatives of the rose: Roses are in the same plant family as plums, apples, and almonds.
Flower power:In the 60's hippies would put flowers in the rifle barrel of soldiers guns as they stood at attention. Amount of water for roses: When roses have just been planted they should be watered daily to prevent wilting. If they have been growing in one spot for some time then they should be watered deeply once a week with one-inch or more of water.
