Roses in France: The French, especially the town of Rouen, embraced the cultivation of roses after the King of Navarre brought his wife rose bushes when he returned from The Seventh Crusade.
Disadvantage of rose hybrids:Typically new colorful varieties of roses which have been created by hybridization are weaker against diseases. Flower trends for the prom: Two popular styles are wrist corsages and small hand-held nosegays (and they look great with strapless dresses!). Popular flowers are mini (or sweetheart) roses, standard roses, dendrobium orchids, alstroemeria lilies, mini carnations and other small flowers such as cornflowers and freesia.
