Cut the stems: If you receive flowers in a box or tissue, remove all of the foliage that falls below the water line, then cut the stems with a sharp knife in a sink full of warm water. Be sure to cut the stems under the water and place them immediately into a vase of warm water mixed with the floral food provided by your florist.
Specify the flower idea:Ask your florist for specific colors or color themes. Let your florist know if you prefer a mixed flower arrangement or an arrangement made up of just one type of flower. Correct delivery information: The florist can guarantee delivery on a holiday if the order is placed in a timely manner. Most florists cannot guarantee an actual time for the delivery on a busy holiday but may be able to give an estimated time. The key is to order early and to have all the delivery information (recipient name, address and phone number) correct to avoid any delays.
