Innocence dance:Young men and women in early Athens would put on a crown of roses during feasts and then to symbolize the innocence of the Golden Age they would dance naked around the temple of Hymen. Forbidden flower: Clement of Alexandra forbade Christians to adorn themselves with roses because they were thought to be a symbol of paganism, orgy, and lust.
