Planting roses: To plant roses which have been obtained from a nursery first water the rose, and then remove it from the pot. If the rose is in a paper pot cut off the bottom and remove the sidewalls so that the fine, new white feeder roots of the growing plant might be preserved.
Weeds for lunch:Dandelions are a member of the Daisy family. The young flowers have a sweet, honey-like flavor. The full grown ones are bitter. Best soil chemistry for roses: Roses seem to grow best in soil that has a chemical pH of about 6.5.
