Where to put flowers: No matter what type of arrangement you have, it is important to keep your flowers off of televisions, appliances and heating/cooling units. You should also keep them away from hot or cold drafts and out of direct sunlight.
Member of professional groups:Florists who belong to professional groups are committed to being the best in their field. Look for affiliation with national wire services (FTD, Teleflora), national trade associations like the Society of American Florists, state and local trade associations, and local community and civic organizations. Order early for holidays: Because flowers are a personal and preferred gift for many holidays, florists are often extremely busy during holiday seasons and inventory on certain flowers and plants may be in short supply. Florists may have a cut off time for accepting delivery orders to ensure that all orders will be delivered in a timely manner. Your best bet is to contact the florist one to two weeks before the holiday.
