Planting roses: To plant roses which have been obtained from a nursery first water the rose, and then remove it from the pot. If the rose is in a paper pot cut off the bottom and remove the sidewalls so that the fine, new white feeder roots of the growing plant might be preserved.
Flowers for food:Sunflower buds taste similar to artichokes but taste bittersweet after the flower opens. Hair coloring with flowers: Ancient Assyrians had a technique for turning gray hair dark again by mixing crushed daisies with oil and applying it to the hair.
