Botanical description: In botany, a flower is regarded as a modified stem with shortened internodes and bearing, at its nodes, structures that may be highly modified leaves. Vegetable flowers: The top part of broccoli is really flower buds. After enough time each will grow into a bright yellow flower, hence the name florets is given to them. Broccoli flowers are not usually given as gift bouquets.
