Old and Modern Roses: Roses which existed prior to 1867 are known as Old Roses. Roses developed from 1867 to present are usually referred to as Modern Roses.
Forbidden flower:Clement of Alexandra forbade Christians to adorn themselves with roses because they were thought to be a symbol of paganism, orgy, and lust. Friends in the rose garden: Roses like to have other companion plants such as garlic, onions, marigolds, mignonettes, and thyme in the garden with them.
