Botanical description: In botany, a flower is regarded as a modified stem with shortened internodes and bearing, at its nodes, structures that may be highly modified leaves. Sacred flower:The flowers heads of the Calendula were used to adorn holy statues in ancient India and it is their most sacred flower. Beginning the rose garden: Early spring is the best time to put out roses grown in nursery containers and late winter is the best time to plant bare-root roses.
