Sending flowers out-of-town: Most florist shops are members of national wire services and/or know florists in other towns. Your flower order can be taken by your local florist, who will then contact a florist for you in another town and place your order.
Flowers for special occasions:Tell your florist if the gift is for a special occasion (birthday, anniversary or other personal milestone). He or she can offer suggestions on how to best celebrate with flowers. Correct attire for visiting the city: There was a song in the 70's advising people to wear flowers in their hair when going to San Francisco.
