Keep flowers away from sun and drafts: It is not a good idea to put your arrangement in the sun after receiving it. Growing flowers require sunshine for maturation, but cut flowers will fade much faster if exposed to heat and direct sunlight. To keep flowers fresh longer, place them in a location away from sun and drafts.
Flower power:In the 60's hippies would put flowers in the rifle barrel of soldiers guns as they stood at attention. Family room decorating: In the summer when the fireplace isn't being used, brighten the hearth with an abundant assortment of seasonal flowers. Continue the theme by placing a few of the same flowers on the mantle next to those family photos.
