Flowers become fruits: For the higher plants, seeds are the next generation, and serve as the primary means by which individuals of a species are dispersed across the landscape. After fertilization, a flower develops into a fruit containing the seed(s).
Flowers make intimate connections. The presence of flowers leads to increased contact with family and friends. Relatives of the rose: Roses are in the same plant family as plums, apples, and almonds.
