Flower trends for the prom: Two popular styles are wrist corsages and small hand-held nosegays (and they look great with strapless dresses!). Popular flowers are mini (or sweetheart) roses, standard roses, dendrobium orchids, alstroemeria lilies, mini carnations and other small flowers such as cornflowers and freesia.
Flowers stop craziness:Around the time of Henry VIII it was believed that 15 days of drinking a mixture of crushed daisies steeped in wine could cure insanity. Old and Modern Roses: Roses which existed prior to 1867 are known as Old Roses. Roses developed from 1867 to present are usually referred to as Modern Roses.
