Weeds for lunch: Dandelions are a member of the Daisy family. The young flowers have a sweet, honey-like flavor. The full grown ones are bitter.
Named for fighters:Gladiolus flowers got their name because the leaves of the plant were shaped like a sword and made them think of the Roman gladiators. Scorpion repellent: It was thought by some Ancients that they could drive away scorpions by using a strong external concoction made of Delphinium flowers.
