Flowers become fruits:For the higher plants, seeds are the next generation, and serve as the primary means by which individuals of a species are dispersed across the landscape. After fertilization, a flower develops into a fruit containing the seed(s). Vegetable flowers: The top part of broccoli is really flower buds. After enough time each will grow into a bright yellow flower, hence the name florets is given to them. Broccoli flowers are not usually given as gift bouquets.
