Some roses are stronger: Some types of roses are better than others at being able to resist damage due to disease or insects.
Flower power:In the 60's hippies would put flowers in the rifle barrel of soldiers guns as they stood at attention. Forbidden flower: Clement of Alexandra forbade Christians to adorn themselves with roses because they were thought to be a symbol of paganism, orgy, and lust.
