Beginning the rose garden: Early spring is the best time to put out roses grown in nursery containers and late winter is the best time to plant bare-root roses.
Planting roses:To plant roses which have been obtained from a nursery first water the rose, and then remove it from the pot. If the rose is in a paper pot cut off the bottom and remove the sidewalls so that the fine, new white feeder roots of the growing plant might be preserved. Ordering over the phone: Full service florists will take phone orders if you have a major credit card. Some florists will establish an in-house account after you have made an initial order.
