Old and Modern Roses: Roses which existed prior to 1867 are known as Old Roses. Roses developed from 1867 to present are usually referred to as Modern Roses.
Flower power:In the 60's hippies would put flowers in the rifle barrel of soldiers guns as they stood at attention. Relatives of the rose: Roses are in the same plant family as plums, apples, and almonds.
